This directory contains notes related to a message header field registry specification for mail, http, netnews, MIME and other protocol-related header fields. The goals include making it easier to find out about defined header fields, and providing a framework that discourages gratuitous divergence between protocols.
Jacob Palme's work has been a great contribution to this effort, though any errors introduced are, of course, all my own work. The data for the registry has been taken a document that Jacob has been maintaining for several years.
